Introduction to Basics of Baking
For you to have an easy time as you begin your baking
journey here are some few things to keep in mind.
1. Recipes
These are usually tried, tested ingredients
and procedures that allow you bake your first pastry successfully.
Recipes include all the ingredients that
will be used to make your pastry.e.g. Cake.
Make sure you go through the recipe
carefully and slowly way before you start baking. This allows you to understand
what you need and plan ahead to ensure when you are ready to bake you have
everything you may need.

2. Tools
The basic tools you need to have that will
allow you bake the easiest recipe include;
Baking pan, Oven, Stop watch, Bowl,
Measuring cups/spoons, Tea/Table spoon, Spatula/cooking spoon/whisker.
For liquid part of your baking e.g. milk,
make sure you use a transparent measuring cup to allow you measure the exact
specified amount in your recipe.
Being keen to specified quantities is key
in making sure you succeed in baking.
3. Preparation
Before you begin baking make sure that all the ingredients and tools specified in the recipe are present in one place this is to avoid movements and confusion when following the recipe.
4. Neatness
Baking I can attest can be messy if not floury,
from having piles of tools you use, to spill overs and not forgetting flour fights.
All in all, neatness should still be key as quality of your products also
depend on how your kitchen area is.
